If you’ve connected Google Fit via Health Connect but your steps aren’t showing up in the Challenges by SportIn app, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
1. Check Google Fit Data
Before troubleshooting SportIn, ensure that Google Fit is actually recording your steps.
• Open Google Fit and check if today’s step count is updating.
• If Google Fit is not recording steps, check your phone’s motion and fitness permissions (Settings > Apps > Google Fit > Permissions).
2. Ensure Health Connect is Syncing Data
Health Connect is the bridge between Google Fit and SportIn. If the sync is blocked, your steps won’t transfer.
• Open Health Connect on your phone.
• Go to Data and access > App permissions.
• Ensure Google Fit is allowed to share steps with Health Connect.
• Ensure SportIn is allowed to read step data from Health Connect.
3. Force a Data Sync
Sometimes data doesn’t refresh immediately. Try manually forcing a sync.
• Open Health Connect, turn off access for SportIn, then turn it back on.
• Open SportIn and refresh the app by pulling down the screen.
• Wait a few minutes and check if your steps appear.
• Refresh in Google Fit and refresh in Challenges.
4. Restart Your Device
A simple restart can fix background sync issues.
• Restart your phone and open Google Fit first to check if steps are counted.
• Open SportIn and see if the steps appear after a few minutes.
5. Update All Apps
Outdated apps can cause sync issues.
• Update Google Fit, Health Connect, and SportIn from the Google Play Store.
• After updating, restart your phone and check if steps sync.
6. Reconnect SportIn to Health Connect
If nothing works, remove and reconnect SportIn to Health Connect.
• Open Health Connect > App permissions and remove SportIn’s access.
• Open SportIn, go to Settings > Connected Apps, and reconnect Health Connect.
• Confirm step tracking permissions.
