Puma, Turtles

Updated over a week ago

In Challenges by SportIn, every day is evaluated against your Level, and your Level is determined by your Pace. Pace reflects your movement rhythm over time. Based on that rhythm, you belong to a performance band, and each band defines its own minimum and maximum daily expectations.

Puma and Turtle are not universal step targets. They are calculated relative to your Level. What qualifies as strong performance at one level may be baseline at another. This keeps the system fair and performance-contextual.

At the end of each day, one of three outcomes is displayed on the daily leaderboard:

  1. Turtle appears when you reach the minimum required steps for your Level. It signals that you met the consistency standard defined by your pace. When awarded, Turtle contributes –1 point in the progression logic. It reflects stability and discipline, but it slightly reduces upward acceleration in medal projection.

  2. Puma appears when you reach the maximum performance target for your Level. It signals that you delivered a peak day within your pace band. When awarded, Puma contributes +1 point in the progression logic. It pushes your projected medal forward.

  3. Percentage only appears when you do not reach the minimum required steps for your Level. In this case, no badge is awarded and no points are applied. The percentage simply reflects how far you progressed toward your level’s minimum threshold.

Because Puma adds +1 and Turtle adds –1, your medal progression is recalculated daily. The app shows not only what you achieved today, but also what medal you are projected to receive tomorrow based on accumulated points.

This creates a performance loop driven by Pace, structured by Level, and expressed daily through Puma and Turtle.
